It is probably the cheapest place to eat in the area, as well as being a good place to meet people. For breakfast, you will spend about € 1,23 for a coffee and a bun (compared with € 2,00 in most bars in town), while an average-size lunch will cost approximately € 5,00. The coffee bar stays open after lunch for drinks and snacks, closing at 16:30h. Pizzerie - there are lots of pizzerie in Florence, but they are not necessarily the cheapest places to eat. At San Domenico, the Pizzeria has fair prices and is open till late. In Florence: Nuti, Borgo San Lorenzo, 39r (area: central market). Da Pepe, Via Pacinotti 5r, tel: 055 574392 (between EUI and town). La Gran Terrazza, Via Gramsci, Fiesole (Terminus of n. 7 bus) is particularly good value. Trattorie - trattorie also abound in Florence, but there are those where you spend € 9-15,00 for a 3-course dinner (tourist menu) and those where you spend € 30,00 for the same. In the former category, you could try: Il Contadino, Via Palazzuolo 71/r, tel: 055 2382673 (near the station) Z¨¤-Z¨¤, Piazza del Mercato Centrale 21/r, tel: 055 215411 (near central market) Palle d'Oro, Via S. Ambrogio) 5) The Bar Which bar? The "Bar Fiasco" of course, run by the EUI students and usually open from 17:30h until ... the last client goes home. Over the interview period, there are special opening times and you will most probably find the research student representatives there shortly after lunch, ready to pour out a drink and chat about the Institute. Please do not hesitate to ask them questions - no doubt you will have plenty to ask, and the researchers¡¯ reps, and indeed all students there, will be ready to answer them. The reps will also be handing out copies of the researchers¡¯ own Alternative Prospectus
